Hello! I am a senior designer working on mobile apps, websites, and games. I love to solve creative problems using technology.
Marxent 3DCloud
2019 - Present
As a senior-level digital artist, I manage a small team focusing on 3D asset creation, quality-assurance, and remediation. Focusing on the home-vertical, we work with 3D models of various LODs designed to be used across web and mobile platforms. I work primarily with Autodesk Maya, the Adobe and Substance suite of programs, Unity, and Blender. Additionally, I also create texture maps for PBR materials and environmental scene renders using Cycles and Octane.
The biggest challenge my team and I face on a daily basis is generating consistent results across a wide range of applications. We produce 3D models that must look accurate across mobile and web platforms and consistent with the actual product. If something doesn’t look right, it’s our job to dig into the texture maps, model file, or code to diagnose the issue.
ACM SIGGRAPH ARCHIVE
2017
During my undergrad, I helped develop an art archival website for SIGGRAPH as part of an independent study along with two other student developers. My role in the project was conceptualizing and designing the UI and front-end graphics of the site using HTML and CSS as well as the functionality of the navigation bars, image galleries, and data input. I used Photoshop and Illustrator for prototyping and WordPress to build the site.
The biggest challenge was categorizing thousands of different artists, artworks, and events and figuring out how to cleanly present this information while making it all easy to access and navigate to. I learned a lot about menus and search functionality during my time with the project.
figma designs
I primarily use Figma while I am prototyping interface design. The two examples here are freelance projects I am currently working on. The top design will be an informational website for a trucking company. The main focus for this project will be to maintain a clean design while presenting all the necessary information about the company. The site must be responsive for both desktop and mobile.
The bottom design is a concept for a D&D mobile app for tracking characters and stats. This will be an interesting project because the user must be able to save their character and load the information when logging back into the app. There will be forms for the user to fill with notes and stats that can be incremented using buttons.
Inflatable images
2013 - 2018
At Inflatable Images, I worked as a seasonal concept artist responsible for creating conceptual drawings and 3D models for inflatables, vehicle wraps, and other signage. I worked with a small team of salespeople and other digital artists designing concepts for high schools, colleges, the NFL, and companies such as Walmart, Joann Fabrics, Mack trucks, Mizuno sports equipment, Remax real estate, Weber grills, Yokohama tires, and many more. The main programs that I worked with were Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Autodesk Maya.
The most challenging aspect of these concepts was taking into account the practicality of the designs as real inflatables. Each design had to support its own weight, so a character’s legs needed to be large yet still represent the character. Additionally, tunnels had to have enough clearance for teams to run through, which would dictate how a design would need to function. I had to learn how to balance practical design with accurately representing the client’s character or logo.
