Procedural mountain terrain

Blender, Substance Painter, Substance Designer
Procedurally-generated mountains using Blender’s ANT Landscape to create the initial terrain shape from noise and then further detailed using displacement maps combined with adaptive subdivision. I’ve created a rock material for the base layer, then snow is layered over top based on each face normal to simulate snowfall. A few more layers are added for packed snow, ice, and gravel to help break up the textures. The result could be baked down and reduced for real-time rendering applications.
The terrain is fully procedural and can work with a variety of heightmaps. Snow will layer over the rocks as expected and cover the tallest points.
